ESC opens menu instead of exiting build mode, leaving player stuck in build/CS view

In Galia 'Claim Stakes', pressing ESC while in CS build view sometimes opens the ESC pause menu instead of exiting build mode/returning to normal character view. After this occurs, the player becomes stuck in build mode/view state and cannot properly exit. Respawning with F1 is a workaround. Subsequent attempts to re-enter build mode are unreliable: sometimes build mode cannot be entered, and other times build mode activates but the camera remains in character view with cursor/input issues until ESC is clicked/used to recover control.

1. Launch Galia and start the 'Claim Stakes' mission.
2. Enter the CS build view (build mode).
3. Press ESC to exit build mode/return to character view.
4. Observe that the ESC menu opens instead of exiting build mode, and the player becomes stuck in build mode/view state.
5. Press F1 to respawn as a workaround, then attempt to enter build mode again.
6. Observe intermittent inability to enter build mode, or build mode activates while camera remains in character view and mouse cursor/input is locked until ESC is used/clicked to recover.

Pressing ESC in build view should cleanly exit build mode and return to normal character view with correct camera and mouse cursor control, without opening the pause menu or leaving the player in a stuck input/view state. Re-entering build mode should work reliably and always switch to the build camera/view.

- While in CS build view, I pressed ESC to switch to character view, but instead of exiting build mode, the game opened the ESC menu, and now I'm stuck in build mode and can't get out.

The only thing I could do was press F1 to respawn, and luckily I appeared next to my X5, which was on the CS landing pad... that saved me from having to spawn in Nova and go back to CS.

When I tried to enter build mode again, it wouldn't let me in. I tried for a while until it finally let me in, but the view was stuck on the character view, not the build view. I could move the character with WASD, but I couldn't move the mouse cursor until I managed to press ESC in the bottom right corner and use the character normally.


On the next try, I was able to enter build mode and place a power plant, but when I pressed ESC again, it got stuck in that view. I used F1 again and appeared next to the X6.

This problem happened to me several times.
